Education Minister Agnes Nyalonje has expressed worry over girls who have absconded from writing primary school leaving certificate examinations under way in the country.

The Minister was speaking after touring some four selected examination centres in Nkhata Bay on Wednesday where it was discovered that some ten girls did not report for examinations due to pregnancies.

The long school holiday due to COVID-19 pandemic has been blamed for the pregnancies.

Over 300, 000 standard 8 learners were registered to sit for this year’s primary school examinations.
