Over 300,000 standard 8 learners have today started sitting for Primary School Leaving Certificate of Education examinations across the country.
Malawi National Examination Board (MANEB) Executive Director Gerald Chiunda confirmed of the development in an interview with the press.
According to Chiunda, all examination materials have been delivered to all centres.
This morning Minister of Education Agnes Nyalonje is visited schools in Nkhatabay and Mzuzu to monitor how the exams have commenced, and if COVID-19 preventive measures are being followed.
She first visited Luwazi primary school in Nkhata Bay.
95 learners from Luwazi and Mwambazi are currently sitting for their PSLCE this year at the examination centre.
