Two men in Kasungu are behind the bars after they were found in possession of ivory which they were offering for sale.
The piece of ivory the two were offering for sale weighs 32 kilograms and valued at MK 26,400,000.00
The Kasungu police station’s publicist Harry Namwaza confirmed the arrest of two that occurred on September 26 at Malomo Trading Centre after a Parks and Wildlife officer gotta a tip that the two were offering for sale raw ivory. Following the tip, the two suspects were arrested.
They will appear in court soon.
Namwaza identified the dual as Limbuka Banda and Phillip Chilopola who both come from Phale village, Traditional Authority Chilowoko in Ntchisi.
