Member of Parliament for Blantyre North, Francis Phiso this morning asked Minister of Transport when they will name the Area 18 interchange after Peter Mutharika.
Minister of Transport Sidik Mia responded by saying it is not his mandate to name the interchange.
Mia said it is the president’s prerogative to name it whatever he wishes.
Magnificent area 18 interchange in the capital city Lilongwe was opened on Monday, September 28, 2020.
Construction of the interchange was initiated by the former ruling Democratic Progressive Party (DPP).
