Unknown man has died while his passenger got fractured after being involved in a car accident at Chapasuka Village along Zalewa-Blantyre M1 road.

According to a passenger Regina Yohane 46, who has sustained fractured left wrist and having painful ribs, the accident took place at around 14:00 hours at the place as the cyclist was peddling his bicycle from the direction of Lunzu towards Zalewa.

Upon reaching at the place, a motor vehicle registration number PE 7258 Toyota Coaster which was being driven by Mr Master Sanyika 45yrs was coming from the opposite direction and was trying to overtake a truck.

In the process it collided with the bicycle and both cyclist and his passenger fell to the ground.

Due to the impact, the pedlist got injured in the head and was pronounced dead upon arrival at Mulambe mission hospital.

His passenger Regina Yohane got fractured on the left wrist and sustained painful ribs.

She is being attended to by medical doctors at Mulambe mission hospital.

The front off side part of the motor vehicle was depressed and the windscreen shattered on the off side part and front bumper damaged while the pedal bicycle had been extensively damaged.

Police is still reminding road users to follow the road traffic rules and regulations when overtaking so that accidents are prevented.
