Center for Democracy and Economic Development Initiatives (CDEDI) has accused President Dr. Lazarus Chakwera of dumping Tonse Alliance manifesto.
CDEDI Acting Executive Director Sylvester Namiwa said this in a statement released on Monday following a media briefing held by Chakwera at Kamuzu Palace aimed at updating Malawians on his 100 days in office.
“CDEDI is shocked with President Chakwera’s insistence on the Malawi Congress Party (MCP) Hi 5 manifesto at the expense of the consolidated Tonse Alliance manifesto that attracted Malawians to vote for them.
“Even after the media tried to direct Chakwera to come out clear on his roadmap and priorities in the next 5 years, the President spoke as if he was still the leader of the opposition! Again he could not give a clear road map,” wrote Namiwa.
Meanwhile Chakwera has asked Malawians to exercise patience, saying soon they will start enjoying the fruits of reforms being taken to cleaer the rubble.
