A 36-year-old woman was allegedly gang-raped by four men in Rewa district of Madhya Pradesh on October 1. The accused allegedly took the woman to Sanjay Gandhi Medical College after she lost consciousness. The woman, who is said to be recovering, is not in a condition to give a statement to the police.

Four of the six accused have been arrested by the police. The woman’s son alleged that his mother had narrated her ordeal to him on Sunday. The woman works as a cook.

The woman went missing on September 30. Following which, her family went looking for her but could not locate her. The next day, the woman’s family got a phone call from the Sanjay Gandhi Medical College and they learned that she had been admitted to the hospital.

The accused men allegedly rushed the woman to the hospital after she lost consciousness and fled from the spot, The Times of India reported. The woman suffered severe head injuries but is said to be in a stable condition.

The woman’s son who works as a labourer alleged that she was alone at home when the six men gang-raped her. Aradhna Singh Parihar, Mahila police station in-charge, added that four of the accused have been arrested and efforts are underway to nab the other two accused.

Parihar said that the police had gone to record the woman’s statement but were advised against the same by the doctors. Parihar added, “She had injuries in her head and no other injuries. “
