A man believed to be in his 40s is nursing wounds after being cut while allegedly trying to rape a woman in Miduuma village, Kijunjubwa sub-county in Masindi district in Uganda.
Mansur Bowie, the LCI chairperson of Miduuma, who declined to name the man, said both the man and the woman are workers at the farm of the vice-chairperson of Masindi district Karim Kabagonza.
Bowie said the man, under the influence of alcohol, invaded the woman’s home on Wednesday evening and attempted to rape her.
In self-defence, she cut his hand with a machete, severely injuring him.
The officer in charge Kijunjubwa Police post, Sulaiman Tagaana, said the suspect sustained severe injuries that may lead to the amputation of the hand.
“The woman also sustained minor injuries during the scuffle but she was left to go home as the Police investigates the matter,” he noted.
Kabagonza said the injured man is his worker, revealing that he even arranged the ambulance that rushed him to Hoima Hospital, where he is undergoing treatment.
