Visiting United Kingdom (UK) Minister for Africa, James Duddridge, has announced an additional £6 million (approx. MWK 5.3 Billion) to Malawi for scaling up the country’s Covid-19 preparedness and response.

He made this announcement during a visit to a warehouse facility for Covid-19 supplies at Kanengo in Lilongwe, which is managed by Unicef Malawi.

In the past weeks, Malawi has recorded positive results in fighting against the spread of Covid-19.

It has seen an increase in number of recoveries, recorded few cases and few deaths.
