An 18-year-old girl was arrested in Pakistan for allegedly disguising herself as a boy and stealing motorcycles in Karachi. The girl was allegedly assisted by a teenager and a 20-year-old youth. Both the girl’s associates are absconding.
The 20-year-old associate of the girl was identified as Basit. The prime accused is said to be a resident of Lyari, Pakistan. She was arrested by the Mauripur police.
As per the police, the girl and her two associates used to target motorcycles of the latest models. The three accused used to snatch or steal the two-wheelers from the owners. The police said that they are on the lookout for the dealers who used to buy the stolen two-wheelers from the three accused, Geo News reported.
While the police arrested the accused, she had another story to tell. The teenaged girl claimed that she had not stolen even a single vehicle. The girl added that someone else had handed over a stolen vehicle to her and she was caught by the police. After her arrest, the 18-year-old girl was handed over to the women’s police for custody.
In June this year, a pastor from Tamil Nadu stole 12 bikes as he did not have money to pay rent for a prayer hall. Identified as Vijayan Samuel, the pastor had taken a prayer hall in Theni on rent. Due to the coronavirus lockdown, the prayer hall had stopped seeing visitors. As he could not make both ends meet, the pastor took to stealing parked two-wheelers.
