Tanzanian President John Pombe Magufuli says African leaders must take a tough stance against corruption.
He was speaking last night during a banquet he hosted in honour of the visiting Malawi leader Dr Lazarus Chakwera.
Magufuli said greed is under – developing Africa.
He hailed his counterpart for his administration’s resolve to stump out corruption.
Magufuli has since instructed Tanzania Port Authorities to open an office in Lilongwe where business people can conveniently access services.
Meanwhile, the two leaders have shared notes for enhanced cooperation in a number of areas including tourism, trade and mining.
According to the Malawi Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Chakwera is expected to return home today afternoon through the Kamuzu International Airport in Lilongwe.
