As the fight against the global pandemic Coronavirus is still on, Malawi is showing progress on handling the virus as 51 more people have recovered in the last 24 hours.

According to a Coronavirus daily report of October 8, 2020, only 6 new cases have been recorded with no new deaths.

Cumulatively, Malawi has a total of 5809 confirmed cases since the first cases that were registered in April this year.

The Ministry of Health has done at least 55488 Covid-19 cases including 286 new tests that were carried in the last 24 hours.

So far there are 1003 active cases of Covid-19.

At least 180 people have died from the virus since the country started registering Covi-19 cases.

Meanwhile, the recovery rate is much higher than the rate of active cases which shows that there is a progress in the fight against the virus.

However, official from the ministry of health are calling on the citizenry not to relent in following preventative measure as a way of containing the spread of the virus.
