An 18-year-old teenager has been arrested after stabbing to death a female prostitute in the house she shared with her three children in Kanduyi, Bungoma County, Kenya.
Bungoma police boss, Wilson Nanga, who confirmed the Thursday incident, said they have launched investigations into the matter.
Locals said that they were woken up by cries in the middle of the night of the woman’s three children.
To rescue the children, all aged under 10, the neighbours had to break the windows to access the house as the assailant locked himself in the bedroom after killing their mother.
The teenager, locals said, was just passing by while on his way to Malaba from Kitale.
The neighbours said the two may have disagreed on pay leading to the stabbing to death of the woman.
