A Blantyre-based musician, Splendor whose real name is Alex Ngulube, is set to release a new single titled ‘Vanity’ on October 15, 2020 in which the core message is to remind people that no matter what they try to get on this earth, it is vanity if they do not seek God first.

In an interview on Monday, Splendor said the single is meant to tell people that because what they seek on earth is perishable they will leave them all, but if they seek God, then they have eternal treasure as there is life after this earth.

“We need to live our lives knowing where we are going.

“I am targeting mostly the young generation. This generation, the youth, are so much driven with material things which forces them to get into behaviour that may harm their lives and their future,” he said.

Splendor added that many young people try to look better than the next person, hence forcing themselves to find all means of getting money even if it means selling their bodies or any other illegal means.

Part of the song goes like, I know you are a goal getter/chasing dreams/making deals/but you can do better/because all wealth taken in dishonest gain/ in the end you will have it but it will cause you pain/go to the grave/it won’t contain all the money/all that balling it’s going to remain.

He said the song is an audio, second single from the upcoming album called ‘Messiah’. He added that his plans are to become a voice for the youth of this generation through music which is not only for entertainment but also carries the message from God.

“The music industry in Malawi is quite large at the moment, but we need to focus on using music as a tool to change our society and make it a God-fearing nation rather than promoting drugs, violence and prostitution,” said Splendor.

The single, produced by Mark, will be available for download on cordiliaangel.com.

Splendor, who entered the music industry in 2014, is currently working on an album which will be released soon when all is set.
