Delhi Police have nabbed a 17-year-old in connection with the hit-and-run case of Model Town of northwest Delhi. On Monday evening, he allegedly had mowed down two minors sisters 8 and 5 years old white colour Honda City Car in Model Town area. Since then, he was absconding, and he was nabbed with the help of the broken number plate recovered from the spot.

On the day of the incident, the girls were crossing the road with their uncle and six-year-old brother. Suddenly, a white colour Honda City Car came and hit all four of them. All tossed in the air before falling on the ground.

All were rushed to the hospital where both the girls identified as Gunjan (8) and Bhoomi (5) succumbed to their injuries while brother and uncle are battling for life. Police said brother’s condition is serious, and he is admitted at AIIMs trauma centre.

Meanwhile, investigators said that the accused is a resident of the same area of Model Town, and he fled away with his car on the day of the incident. The accused is pursuing class 12 from a private school. The vehicle is registered on the name of his uncle. Further investigations are on.

Police said the girls along with their family members had gone out for having food and drink juice on Monday night. Their parents and uncle were also present with them.

On the way, their father stopped the car to get the CNG. On seeing some eatery, both the girls and their brother requested their uncle to take them to the shop. While the trio crossing the road along with the uncle, the car hit them, leaving the trio siblings injured critically.

Police said they are mulling to book his uncle or father for giving the car to a minor. They are also mulling to slap section 304 (culpable homicide not amounting to murder) because the accused is juvenile.
