A 20-year-old grade 12 pupil in South Africa has caused news on the internet after he got suspended for allegedly throwing sewage at his female teacher after he was sent back for not wearing proper uniform.

SowetanLive, reports that the incident happened on Tuesday at Mophate Secondary School in Bothaville, Free State.

The pupil was apparently irked after the teacher reprimanded him on Monday for not wearing a proper uniform.

The pupil left for home and returned the following day when he went to the class where the victim was busy teaching and allegedly threw sewage on her.

On Tuesday the teacher posted a picture of herself with stains on her clothes and part of her face on her Facebook page. She also included a video of the boy who was next to other teachers in the staff room where the principal summoned him.

Another video showed a teacher and the pupil engaged in an argument.  The teacher is heard telling him to sit down so that they can write an incident report.

The pupil is seen trying to force his way out of the staff room but one of the male teachers is heard telling him that he’s not going anywhere.

The pupil can be heard threatening to do the same thing [throw sewage at him] to the teacher, with the teacher saying that he is not scared of him. The pupil then says they will meet in the township streets.

Free State education spokesperson Howard Ndaba said the pupil will appear before the school’s disciplinary committee on Friday.

It is said they will further investigate the incident and offer psychosocial support to pupils and teachers who witnessed the incident.

“We frown upon any form of violence in our schools and we call on our learners to maintain a high level of discipline and respect for their teachers”
