About 500 women are in dilemma following the abrupt closure of a fistula camp at Bwaila Hospital where they were set to be operated on.
Following the Covid-19 pandemic, health authorities turned the fistula camp into an isolation centre and subsequently turned away the women who were due for operation.
The development certainly did not please the donor who is now threatening to pull out support for the project that has been going on for the past 10 years.
Apparently, the government is now pressing the donor to relocate the camp to Kamuzu Central Hospital across town in Lilongwe.
