A 78 year old man has been burnt to death after his house caught fire.
The incident occurred on the night of October 21, 2020 at Chafumbulula village in the area of Traditional Authority Chidzuma in the district.
The deceased has been identified as Sabatukuka Mdala.
Mdala was working as a herdsman and on October 21, 2020 around 15:00 hours he went to Chafumbulula village to drink beer. After drinking beer at around 21:00 hours he returned to his house and he was allegedly drunk.
Upon arrival at his house, he decided to light a fire to cook food. Accidentally, his house caught fire which burnt him to death.
Postmortem conducted showed that death occurred due to severe burns.
