Good Samaritans have come to the rescue of the Chikwawa Kabaza operator who was arrested for carrying 9 children on a bicycle as he has been gifted with a tricycle to boost his business.

The 40 year old Mavuto Mussa who hails from Sorgin village Traditional Authority Mbenje Nsanje district was arrested on Friday after a video of him and his passengers went viral on social media platforms.

After his arrest, people on social media protested for his release arguing that the crime he committed deserved counselling and guidance for he was only doing that for survival.

Mussa was later released form police custody and he was told to report back to the Chilomo Police Post today (on Monday) together with the parents of the children for further advice.

One social media activist Gerald Chavez Kampanikiza asked well-wishers to contribute money to support Mussa.

He (Kampanikiza) updated that he managed to raise funds amounting to K220, 000.

According to Kampanikiza, together with other well-wishers whom he ‘privately’ approached managed to get Mussa a tricycle to boost his business.

I can confirm that God has answered Mavuto Mussa the Nsanje Kabaza guy in an amazing way apart from the little we contributed I am pleased to inform the nation that I have managed to secure a tricycle motor for him from those I privately approached,” Kampanikiza said.

He further added that Mussa will collect his tricycle in Lilongwe on Tuesday.
