President Dr Lazarus Chakwera on Thursday warned new judges who took oaths of office and allegiance not to get involved in corruption in order to pervert justice.
“You should not allow to be intimidated to engage in corruption, ” he said.
The President implored on the judges “to love peace and hate secret enemies of that peace.”
He said courts exist as avenues of promoting peace.
The Malawi leader asked “God to bless you and keep you.”
Four of the high court judges appointed by the President to the Supreme Court of Appeal include Justice Healy Potani and Ivy Kamanga.
Potani chaired a panel of five judges that presided over the 2019 presidential election dispute.
The judges, who ordered a fresh presidential election, have won this year’s UK’s Chatham House prize.
