A sexual abuse victim has died days after giving birth prematurely to a child allegedly fathered by a 43-year-old man in the rural municipality of Uruara, in the northern state of Para, Brazil.
The 11-year-old girl, Luana Costa was groomed and sexually abused from the age of nine by Francinildo Moraes, who still continued to have sex with her during her pregnancy, Mail Online reported.
The report said Luana was in her fifth month of pregnancy when she had to be induced. She died on Tuesday, October 27, four days after giving birth prematurely.
Police said Moraes convinced the girl to pose in photographs with him and uploaded to his social media pages, despite the illegality of their ‘relationship’.
Luana’s family members found out about the sexual abuse when they noticed changes in her body and they took her to see a doctor, who then confirmed she was five months pregnant.

According to her aunt, the man threatened the girl not to tell anyone about sexual abuse and carried out his crimes far from the her village.
Police are looking for the suspect, who remains at large.
