Kenyan police are looking for a woman suspected of butchering her husband before fleeing with their children in Nyamira North.
According to Nyamira County Commissioner Amos Mariba, 41-year-old James Barini Mecha, Nsicha Village in North Mugirango was found lying on his bed soaked in blood.
There was no one in the home at the time villagers discovered his body Monday morning.
“The body of the deceased was found in his bed and in a pool of blood with deep cuts on his head and legs,” Mariba said.
According to the administrator, the wife of the deceased was seen at a nearby bus park early in the morning with her belongings alongside their three children.
It could not be established where the suspect was going at that time but County Criminal Intelligence head Monica Ong’ayo said she was being sought.
“We are looking for the suspect even as we widen our scope of investigating the matter to bring anyone culpable to justice,” Ms Ong’ayo said.
