Information sourced by this publication indicates that the main opposition Democratic Progressive Party (DPP) will hire private consultants to solicit views from the party’s district, regional and constituency on the rebuilding exercise after losing the June 23, 2020 fresh Presidential polls.

The revelation follows a delay of the report by the party’s Functional Review Committee tasked to conduct a postermotem of the party ahead of the rebuilding exercise sanctioned by the party’s President Peter Mutharika.

The committee was being chaired by the party’s Vice President for Eastern Region Bright Msaka.

Recently Mutharika told the press that he will only call for convention once the committee sanctioned to do the exercise released its report on the matter.

Speaking in an interview with the press DPP acting Spokesperson Brown Mpinganjira confirmed of the development, saying the new consultants will start its working from this Wednesday.

“The work begins next Wednesday to meet all party structures and we will advertise it in newspapers so that people should follow what is happening in DPP family,” said Mpinganjira.

DPP is currently in leadership crisis characterized by infighting.

Recently the party fired its Vice President for the South Kondwani Nankhumwa for allegedly imposing himself as leader of opposition.

The party also fired nankhumwa from the post of Vice President in the South but he obtained an injunction on the matter.
