President Dr. Lazarus Chakwera has directed Chief Secretary to the President Zanga-Zanga Chikhosi to address the anomaly over the appointment of new Acting Chief Executive Officer National Oil Company of Malawi (NOCMA) Limited,Hellen Buluma.
Chakwera said this during the State of the Nation Address (SONA) currrently underway at Kamuzu Palace in the capital Lilongwe.
In his address, Chakwera said he has received concerns from many Malawians that Buluma is a suspected Democratic Progressive Party operative whose appointment is questionable.
Chakwera has since given Chikhosi two weeks to address the anomaly.
On the other hand Chakwera commended the board of NOCMA for removing the company’s CEO over abuse of office allegations.
Chakwera has since asked other statutory boards to emulate the same or else face consequences.
