The industrial relations court has given the Attorney general Chikosa Silungwe 14 days to decide on whether or not government will deploy or compensate former principal Secretary in the ministry of local government Christopher Makileni.

The industrial relations Court ordered government to compensate Makileni with 750 million Kwacha for unfair dismissal.

However, government has proposed to rehire Makileni against paying out 750 million Kwacha.

Makileni through his lawyer Paul Maulidi agreed to return in the civil service but on condition that he is compensated with 205 Million Kwacha.

In an interview, Maulidi confirmed saying the Attorney general will report back to the court on whether government will compensate his client or re-hire him.

Maulidi added that the court has also barred Thabo Chakaka Nyirenda from representing Zangazanga Chikhosi, chief secretary to government and his deputy Janet Banda saying they are supposed to be represented by the attorney general.
