Malawi National Examinations Board (MANEB) Executive Director Gerald Chiunda blames his staff for the exam leakage.
On Tuesday, MANEB confirmed the leakage of Malawi School Certificate of Education (MSCE) examination papers.
Students started sitting for the examinations last week and some papers were circulating on social media platforms, especially WhatsApp and Facebook.
They include soft copy versions of English and Biology papers which turned out to be the exact copies of the exams which MANEB prepared.
Over 30 Form 4 learners have reportedly been arrested across the country in connection with the malpractice.
Speaking to Capital FM, Chiunda expressed concern describing the leakage of exams as selfish and unpatriotic.
Hours ago, MANEB cancelled the 2020 Malawi School Certificate of Education (MSCE) exams and said students will sit again for the exams from 29 March next year.
Meanwhile, President Lazurus Chakwera has given the Minister of Education Science and Technology (MoEST) Agnes Nyalonje seven days to apprehend the perpetrators of this year’s MSCE leakage at Malawi National Examination Board (MANEB).The President has also given the Minister up to the end of this month to replace MANEB management with new board or else will dance to the music.
