Meghan Markle has made history by voting in this year’s US election as she is reportedly the first royal to ever take part in a national election.
According to The Sun, Meghan Markle has become the first modern royal to vote in a US presidential election after casting an early mail ballot.
As the Duchess of Sussex, she has broken centuries-old tradition that dictates that members of the British monarchy remain politically neutral, and as such voluntarily do not vote.
However, it comes as no surprise as Meghan was an American long before she was a royal.
A close source revealed that Meghan wouldn’t miss voting in this election no matter where she was living and that she couldn’t wait to cast her vote via a mail-in ballot
Prior to the date of the election, Meghan and Prince Harry have been rallying people to go vote. They went to educate the general public on the importance of voting during ABC’s TIME 100 special.
However, in his entire life, Prince Harry has not been able to vote in the Uk and he is also not going to be able to vote here in the U.S. This is because since he is a member of the royal family he has to remain politically neutral.
Recently, Prince Harry and Meghan received some backlash when they weighed in on the US elections and hinted that she is a fan of Joe Biden.
