Sunnyside Adventist Youth (AY) from Blantyre recently donated items to the retired pastor, Jimmy Alfred Ziyenda, in Mwanza district.
Donating the items, Sunnyside AY committee chairperson, Comrade Linly Bamusi, said the visit has been repeated after appreciating amazing testimonies and feedback from both the retired pastor and the youth.
“Today, we are here again just to learn some secrets behind the long lifespan of the retired pastor Ziyenda, who was born on 15 March, 1928.
He looks energetic and he is one of the few examples that the youth must imitate in as far as caring for the body is concerned. As part of honouring the Retired Pastor’s Appreciation Day, which is organized every year by the Seventh-Day Adventist- South Malawi Conference Youth Ministry, Sunnyside Adventist Youth have presented various items worth K160, 000 to the retired pastor, Ziyenda,” Bamusi said.
Speaking after the presentation ceremony, retired Pastor Ziyenda commended the youth for the contribution.
“I am very happy to be visited again this year by Sunnyside AY. The youth have beautified the state of my retirement age. I do not take this donation for granted, and I will always cherish this memorable occasion,” he said.
