President Dr. Lazarus Chakwera is heading to the Northern Region for the first time since winning the fresh Presidential polls on June 23, 2020.
Chakwera of Tonse Alliance outclassed former President Professor Arthur Peter Mutharika who represented the Democratic Progressive Party (DPP)-UDF Alliance with 2.7 million votes against 1.7 million votes.
Due to Corona-virus pandemic Chakwera and his Vice President Dr. Saulos Chilima have spent most of their 100 days in the capital Lilongwe and for Chakwera this the first trip to Mzuzu.
According to information at hand, People in Mzuzu have gathered at Katoto Roundabout to welcome Chakwera in the evergreen city.
The who city has been decorated with flags of Tonse Alliance partners namely, Freedom Party of former Vice President Khumbo Kachali, Malawi Congress Party (MCP) of Chakwera, United Transformation Movement (UTM) of Chilima and People’s Party (PP) of Dr Joyce Banda.
Chakwera will be in the north for five days.
