The High Court In Lilongwe has adjourned to next week Monday an injunction case in which four Democratic Progressive Party (DPP) top officials led by leader of opposition Kondwani Nanhkumwa are challenging their firing from the party.

The Court has also sustained an injunction obtained by DPP Vice President for the South Kondwani Nankhumwa to remain leader of opposition in Parliament.

Nankhumwa, alongside party secretary General Grezelder Jeffrey, Treasurer General Jappie Mhango and Mulanje West Legislator Yusuf Nthenda were all expelled from the party by the Central Committee on grounds of gross misconduct.

However the 4 proceeded to obtain an injunction stopping the party’s decision.

Lawyer for the four Gilbert Khonyongwa confirmed of the development in an interview with the press.

DPP is currently in leadership crisis with some top officials calling for an early convention to replace the party President Professor Arthur Peter Mutharika.

But Mutharika has on several times rejected the call.
