Media Institute For Southern Africa (MISA) Malawi Chapter has expressed shock following the passing of Journalist Chris Chawango who was a News Editor for Love Community Radio in Salima.
In a statement made available to this publication, Teresa Ndanga chairperson for MISA Malawi described Chawango as a selfless being who dedicated his life to journalism.
“Chawango dedicated his life to journalism and will be remembered for mentoring up-and-coming broadcasters,” reads the statement.
According to reports, Chawango passed on Thursday, November12, 2020 after he collapsed on Monday and was later admitted to Salima District Hospital.
Chawango also worked with Radio Maria Malawi.
Burial will take place tomorrow, Friday, November 13, 2020 at Sharpe Valley in the area of Traditional Authority Ganya in Ntcheu district.
