The Zambian Music group Organized Family has apologized to Malawians over a Facebook post making fun of two  Malawian sisters playing for the country’s Women Football National Team, the Scorchers.

Yesterday, the official Facebook of the trio posted a picture of Tabitha and Temwa Chawinga saying they (Zambians) needed an explanation from Malawi if indeed the two are women, the development which angered Malawians and demanded that the group should never be seen in Malawi performing.

After realizing that the post has drawn fire from Malawian People, the post was taken down and only to explain that it was all a joke considering that they consider Malawi as part of their family.

“Ah Malawi and all family members, the earlier post about Malawi international artists was not intended to promote cyberbullying as it has been interpreted by most of you,” reads part of the said apology.

They further added that the post only meant to be a joke saying it is very unfortunate that it has been misinterpreted.

“Malawi is our home, playground and it harbors our friends, family and business partners. What is wrong about making fun of family in a way of joking?” asked Organized Family.

Despite justifying the reason behind their post, Malawians were not convinced as they claimed that they (Organized Family) were not joking as they put it arguing that they knew exactly what they were saying.

Issuing an official apology, the founder and leader of Organized Family, Orga Kent apologized to Tabitha and her sister Temwa saying that they are committed in loving and respecting women.

“Firstly I apologies on behalf of the group to the ladies that were posted, we love and appreciate women thus our song “WOMAN”. Hope our sisters will understand and forgive. I take this time to equally dedicate our song “WOMAN” to all the Malawi ladies,” said Orga Kent.

According to Kent, their page was not hacked hence they cannot use that as an excuse saying that they are only having difficulties in hiring a different company to handle their Facebook page adding that they recently fire a person who was handling the social media affairs hence facing such setbacks.

“I am suspecting someone paid someone to destroy our image,” complained Kent

He added; “First of all we are not comedians to make fan of anyone or anything and this page is not about football but music, the reason why we post about African or Malawi Netballers congratulating them, Boxers, Footballers Comedians etc. is because we love Malawi so much and everyone even here in Zambia knows that Malawi is our second home spending more than 70% of our music career performing in Malawi.”

Lastly he said the page will be handled by the members of the group and hoping that the relationship that existed between Malawi and Zambia will continue to flow.
