The High Court in Lilongwe has adjourned to December 1, 2020 a case where Democratic Progressive Party (DPP) Vice President for the South Kondwani Nankhumwa and three others are against their firing in the party.

Nankhumwa alongside party secretary General Grezelder Jeffrey, Treasurer General Jappie Mhango and Mulanje West Legislator Yusuf Nthenda were all expelled from the party by the Central Committee on grounds of gross misconduct but the they obtained an injunction stopping the party’s decision.

On Monday the case failed to commence at the High Court in Lilongwe following a request from the defendants who said they are not ready with the case.

According to Manuel Theu, lawyer representing DPP said at the moment his clients are tied up with party matters hence asking for more time.

Theu said the party leader is currently busy with functional review meetings.

The court has since set 1 December as a date hearing shall commence.
