Secretary for Education Chikondano C. Mussa Tuesday assured former students of Mzuzu University who completer their studies in December 2019 that are yet to get their degree certificates that they will get their certificates.
Mussa said this after receiving a petition from the students at Capital Hill in Lilongwe at the conclusion of their demonstrations held to force the university hold the graduation ceremony or give them their certificates.
Said Mussa: “I want to assure you that the petition has come to the right Ministry and we will make sure that you get your certificates.”
Earlier today, Mzuni students who completed their studies in 2019 marched in Lilongwe to Capital Hill, demanding that they be given their degree certificates before the year ends.
They said the university’s management is failing to set a date for their graduation.
They were over 500 of them from three different faculties.
