In a shocking incident reported from the national capital, a businessman was killed and decapitated by the fiance of a woman with whom the victim in a relationship. The victim has been identified as 46-year-old Neeraj Gupta.
The accused who is identified as 28-year-old Mohammad Zubair carried Neeraj’s body in a suitcase all the way to Gujarat in Rajdhani Express. The body was later dumped on the way to Goa near Bharuch.
Police have now arrested Zubair, his fiancee Faizal and her mother Shaheen Naaz, according to a report in Times of India. The victim was a financer and lived in the Model Town area of northwest Delhi.
According to DCP (northwest) Aijayanta Arya, the incident took place on the night of November 13. A missing report was filed by one of Gupta’s friends after he did not return home.
During the probe, police analysed the victim’s call details but he could not be traced. Later, a kidnapping complaint was filed by Gupta’s wife against Faizal as the victim was allegedly having an affair with her.
Faizal was an employee of Gupta. During questioning, Faizal gave conflicting statements but finally broke down and admitted that she was having an affair with Neeraj Gupta while she worked for him at his Karol Bagh office.
Faizal and Gupta could not marry as the victim was not ready to leave his wife and family. Later, Faizal gave in to the pressure from the family and got engaged to Zubair.
On the night of the incident, Gupta reached Faizal’s rented accommodation at Adarsh Nagar and a heated argument ensued between him and Zubair. In a fit of rage, Zubair hit Gupta on the head and stabbed him to death and later beheaded him.
Police have arrested the three accused and recovered the knife used in the crime. Police said they are trying to recover the body of Gupta.
