State lawyers are currently at the High Court, Lilongwe to apply for a review of last week’s decision by the Magistrate’s Court to unconditionally release Shepherd Bushiri and his wife Mary Bushiri.

The development comes barely hours after the South African government issued three arrest warrants on rape allegations against Prophet Bushiri of Enlighten Christian Gathering (ECG) church.

The court last week called for unconditional release for Bushiri and his wife after spending a night in police cell in the capital Lilongwe.

Bushiri is being hunted by the South Africa’s government on fraud and money laundering allegations.
