Just when you thought People’s Sexiest Man Alive title was a triumphant, and clear, victory for “Black Panther” star Michael B. Jordan.
In steps Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson, People’s Sexiest Man Alive for 2016, with a page torn from President Donald Trump’s prolonged contesting of the 2020 presidential election results.
“I CONCEDE NOTHING,” Johnson wrote on his Instagram page Friday about the Sexiest Man Alive crown, adding a winking emoji to make it clear he was just kidding. We hope.
But seriously, Johnson had nothing for love for Jordan, writing, “congrats to my brother @michaelbjordan on the new sexy crown.”
The Rock was featured in the latest Sexiest Man issue as well – in a manner befitting to his icon status, In the interview he talked about living his life to the fullest.
Johnson discussed waking up before the sunrise – and his two daughters – to get in his workouts. All before work and spending family time during the day, and then having “Netflix and chill” evenings with wife Lauren and a glass of his Teremana tequila.
“I’ll say no more before I get in trouble,” Johnson said.
The Rock has made clear in the past that he will fight for his lifetime Sexiest Man honor.
As he told USA TODAY in 2019, he had some alpha words for his “Fast & Furious Presents: Hobbs & Shaw” co-star when Idris Elba took the crown in 2018.
“(Elba) came on set full of bravado,” Johnson recalled. “I reminded him, ‘Yes, you are People magazine’s Sexiest Man Alive of 2019. I however, am the Sexiest Man Alive in what is called ‘perpetuity.’ That means for life.'”
Jordan claimed to be a shocked by the Sexiest Man honor, telling Jimmy Kimmel on Tuesday, “It was a moment like oh (expletive), really? Me? … It was a cool moment.”
