President Dr. Lazarus Chakwera has been inducted as patron of the Malawi Red Cross Society.
The function took place at Kamuzu Palace in the capital Lilongwe where President Chakwera presided over the inauguration of the 2020 Malawi Red Cross Flag week.
Chakwera has since accepted to be the the Patron of the Malawi Redcross.
The President also donated One Million Kwacha to the Malawi Red Cross Society
Red Cross flag week is an annual fund-raising event held every May to mobilize resources and donations to enable the society raise funds necessary to respond to disasters that mostly benefit those people in need.
