President Dr. Lazarus Chakwera is expected to leave the country on Friday for Botswana to attend the Southern African Development Community (SADC) Extraordinary Organ Troika Summit, Plus Troop Contributing Countries (TCC), the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC) and the Republic of Mozambique in Gaborone, Botswana.

This has been confirmed in a statement from the Office of the President and Cabinet (OPC) made available to faceofmalawi.

According to the statement, the President will depart the country through Kamuzu International Airport (KIA) at around 9am on Friday and will arrive back in the country the same day.

The statement further says that, more details of the trip will be announced later.

Chakwera recently also paid a two days working visit the Republic of South Africa where he signed a number of bilateral trade.
