Donald Trump has given his closest indication he’s ready to concede defeat in the 2020 US Election.
The US President says he will leave the White House if the electoral college votes confirm Joe Biden as the winner.
He still believes (without concrete evidence) that the election was rigged, however when he was asked whether he is ready to grant Biden a peaceful transition of power, he didn’t mince his words.
“Certainly I will. And you know that,” he said.
“But I think that there will be a lot of things happening between now and the 20th of January. A lot of things. Massive fraud has been found. We’re like a third world country.”
He didn’t indicate whether he would attend Biden’s inauguration in January next year.
Trump would be the first US President since Andrew Johnson in 1869 not to attend an inauguration.
He continued his unsupported suspicions that there were issues in the November 3 vote.
“It’s going to be a very hard thing to concede because we know there was massive fraud,” he said. “The people are very disappointed that we were robbed. I won (Georgia) by hundreds of thousands of votes.”
