Reserve Bank of Malawi(RBM) has announced that the bank will release new and upgrade K1000 bank note from February 2021.
RBM Governor Dr. Wilson Banda announced this during media briefing currently underway in the commercial capital Blantyre today.
According to Banda, the move is aimed at combating counterfeit currencies in circulation.
Recently the law enforcers in the country have arrested a number of people across the country found in possession of fake currency.
