Senior Resident Magistrate Shyreen Chirwa has thrown out an application by lawyers for former president Peter Mutharika’s bodyguard Norman Chisale to pend proceedings of the fake certificate case saying defence has not given proof that there is an application before the High Court to review preliminary issues for the case in the lower court.
Chirwa said the court cannot go hunting for the file that has been made in the High Court. She said the defence needed to show that there was such an application.
Chirwa has since ordered that the case proceed and State should parade witnesses.
