Department of Immigration and Citizenship Service has dismissed a recruitment vacancy that is making rounds on social media.

Over the weekend social media was awash with reports that the Immigration Department is inviting applications for the post of Immigration Assistance Grade M.

According to a statement signed by Immigration’s National Public Relations officer Joseph Chauwa said that such advert has not been released.

“The Department of Immigration and Citizenship Services wishes to distance itself from a fake advert circulating on the social media inviting applications for the post of Immigration Assistant Grade M,” Chauwa said.

Chauwa further warned that there are individuals masquerading as immigration officers demanding money from prospective applicants to send them money to be considered for the post.

Lastly, Chauwa has encouraged the general public to first verify the validity of any similar information posted on the social media before spreading it.
