News coming in indicate Member of Parliament for former ruling Democratic Progressive Party (DPP) Symon Vuwa Kaunda has been arrested by the Anti-Corruption Bureau.

ACB Director Reyneck Matemba who last hinted that the Bureau s yet to make more arrests on the issue related to DPP’s Charles Mchacha, confirmed of the arrest.

According to Matemba, Vuwa Kaunda has been arrested on charges related to graft and neglect of duty.

“Last week we indicated that we had two more warrants of arrest, we executed two and we were remaining with two. Today we have executed one more warrant of arrest on Honourable Symon Vuwa Kaunda, last week we had indicated that we could not have arrested the other person because he was conducting official Parliamentary business,” he said.

In a related development, Anti-grafting body has also issued a warrant of arrest of former Chief Secretary to President Lloyd Muhara on Similar charges.

Democratic Progressive Party Member of Parliament Symon Vuwa Kaunda has been arrested on charges related to graft and neglect of duty.

Muhara, meanwhile, is said to be in the United States and the ACB is hoping that as a judge, he will comply with the warrant and that if not extradition processes will have to be followed.

Mchacha, the former Irrigation and Water Development Minister and Bright Kumwembe, Ministry of Defence principal secretary were arrested last week.

Mchacha  faces four charges of inducing public officers to corruptly perform duties to award him a plot in Kanjedza project. He was also charged with using insulting words against Nation Publications Limited journalist Bobby Kabango who was investigating how the DPP regional governor for the South acquired the Kanjedza plot.

Kumwembe was charged with neglect of duty and giving false information in relation to Mchacha’s graft case.

Principal resident magistrate Viva Nyimba freed the two on conditional bail.
