The Supreme Court has ruled that the appeal case for Ralph Kasambara, Pika Manondo and McDonald Kumwembe is not ready for hearing as there are no skeleton arguments and that some documents are missing in the records of 12 volumes that are before court.

The absence of Kumwembe and Manondo has also forced the court to order that matter is not ready for hearing.

The court has since ordered the parties to resolve the issues raised in the next 28 days.

Former Minister of Justice Ralph Kasambara, Pika Manondo and McDonald Kumwembe were jailed in 2016 in connection to attempted murder of former budget director Paul Mphwiyo.

The three appealed before the Supreme Court to review their convictions.

Kasambara was convicted and sentenced for conspiracy to attempted murder while the other were convicted and sentenced for attempted murder.

On March 14 2018, Supreme Court of Appeal Justice Dunstain Mwaungulu released Kasambara on bail but did not release Manondo and Kumwembe on bail.
