Member of Parliament for Nkhata-Bay Central Constituency Simon Vuwa Kaunda will appear in court today for formal charges.

The Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) arrested Kaunda on Tuesday in connection with the sale of the land belonging to the Department of Forestry in Kanjedza, Blantyre.

According to ACB Director General Reyneck Matemba, Kaunda is accused of allocating the alleged land to former Minister of Agriculture, Irrigation and Water Development Charles Mchacha valued at Mk30.5 million.

The ACB also arrested Mchacha but is out on bail.

Matemba said Kaunda will be taken to court today after recording his statement on the matter.

Meanwhile ACB has issued an arrest warrant for former Chief Secretary to government Lloyd Muhara.

Muhara is currently on the run.
