Two Zimbabwean men have been jailed by a Polokwane High Court in South Africa after they were hired by a South African woman to kill her mother to settle a family dispute.

Faceofmalawi has established from The Chronicle that Brian Ndlovu (24) and Wilmington Shumbayaonda (27) were allegedly paid R100 000 by Violet Mabhina to kill her mother, Nancy Mabhina.

Limpopo police spokesperson, Brigadier Motlafela Mojapelo, said Mabhina hired the two accused to kill her mother following a family dispute. Ndlovu and Shumbayaonda agreed to do the job after she promised to pay them  R100 000.

Brigadier Mojapelo revealed that on 15 April 2020 at around 2 AM, Voilet Mabhina opened the door for the duo to enter and kill her mother.

“The two accused Ndlovu and Shumbayaonda arrived at the house at Zone 01, Seshego outside Polokwane City on 15 April 2020 at about 02:00 hours in the morning, where the deceased’s daughter opened and let them into the house, making it appear as burglary.”

“She then pointed them to where her mother was sleeping before she went to her own bedroom,” he said.

The duo then went on to attack the deceased and stabbed her several times with a knife, before stealing her cell-phone and fleeing the scene.

The deceased’s elderly mother cried out for help during the attack and the police were immediately notified. Unfortunately,  the woman was certified dead on the scene.

“Police opened a case of murder and investigations commenced, which involved manhunt for the suspects,” he said.

The police managed to arrest the two suspects on the same day. After further, investigations, they also managed to arrest the deceased’s daughter Voilet Mabhina for being the mastermind of the crime.

Ndlovu and Shumbayaonda were sentenced to 15 years in prison while Mabhina was jailed for an effective 23 years by the same court.
