In a shocking incident reported from Nagpur city of Maharashtra, a 17-year-old boy allegedly murdered his girlfriend’s brother and grandmother after she objected to their relationship. The victims are aged 60 and 10 years old.
The incident took place in Hazaripahad area of the city on Thursday. The killings are said to be the result of the objection to ‘friendship’ between the minor boy and the 20-year-old granddaughter of the deceased.
Meanwhile, Gittikhadan police have registered a case of murder against the accused, who is still at large, according to a report in Times of India.
The report further suggested the boy was reportedly upset after his girlfriend was shifted to maternal uncle’s place at Surendra Nagar. The boy was said to be from a different community.
Meanwhile, International Hindu Parishad, Rashtriya Bajrang Dal have termed it a case of ‘love jihad’ and alleged that the boy has eloped with the girl. The right-wing organisations have also called a protest on Friday afternoon over the incident.
The accused had reportedly indulged in altercations with the family of the deceased and had threatened them with dire consequences.
The boy had allegedly befriended the girl a year ago through social media. The accused is a Class 12 dropout.
“I thought the youth had kidnapped my son but his body was later found inside the bathroom with blood all over him,” said Sonali, the daughter-in-law of the deceased. Sonali later informed her husband and raised an alarm in the neighbourhood.
