One of the long serving Catholic Bishops, Archbishop Tarcisius Ziyaye has died.
The late Ziyaye who was serving as archbishop for Lilongwe Diocese reportedly died in Namibia while receiving treatment, according to a statement from the Episcopal Conference of Malawi.
“Archibishop Ziyaye has passed on in the early hours of today, 14th December 2020 in Namibia where he was receiving medical treatment,” reads part of the statement signed by Reverend Henry Saindi, the Secretary General for the Episcopal Conference of Malawi.
The full programme of the funeral and burial ceremonies will later be announced.
