Reports reaching this publication indicate that the Malawi Electoral Commission (MEC) Commissioner Linda Kunje and her driver, Jones Tewesa, will spend two more nights at Zomba Central Prison after the Senior Resident Magistrate Court in Zomba reserved it’s ruling on bail application until Thursday.
The two are accused of obstructing presidential convoy last Thursday when President Lazarus Chakwera was on his way to a graduation ceremony at Chancellor College in the old capital city, Zomba.
Kunje and her driver denied the charges.
Police arrested Kunje when she handed herself to the regional headquarters in Zomba yesterday.
Meanwhile, Acting Senior Resident Magistrate Hellen Kachala is to deliver her ruling on Thursday.
